a clause in a contract which allows for increased royalties as sales increase


COMMENT: In such a clause, the royalty may only by 5% for the first printing of 2000 copies, but will increase to 7.5% for the next 2000 copies, then to 10% and finally 12.5% for sales beyond (say) 10,000 copies.
